California leads the country in electric vehicles, and a Level 2 home charger is the single best upgrade for any EV owner. Here's how EV Charger Installation works and what to expect.

Level 1 vs Level 2

Level 1 uses a standard outlet and adds about 4 miles of range per hour. Level 2 runs on 240V and adds 25 to 40 miles per hour, fully charging most cars overnight.

Tesla Wall Connector or universal?

The Tesla Wall Connector is excellent for Tesla owners and now works with many other cars. Universal J1772 chargers like ChargePoint, Wallbox and Emporia fit everything. We install both across Irvine, Fremont, Santa Clara and every California city.

Does your panel have room?

A charger needs a dedicated 40 to 60 amp circuit. Homes with 100 amp service often need a panel upgrade in Fremont or a load management device. We do a free capacity check on every visit.

Hardwired vs NEMA 14-50 outlet

A 14-50 outlet is flexible and lets you use a portable charger. Hardwiring allows higher charging rates and is cleaner. We explain both.

Permits and rebates

Most California cities require a permit for EV chargers. Many utilities and air districts offer rebates. Ask your local team about programs in Sacramento, San Diego or Riverside.

Cost

Simple installs near the panel are the most affordable. Longer runs, trenching or panel work add cost. Call (833) 652-8933 for a quick phone quote.
