Your electrical panel is the heart of your home's power system. Most panels last 25 to 40 years, but modern homes ask far more of them than the homes they were built for: EV chargers, heat pumps, induction ranges and home offices. 1. Breakers that trip often
An occasional trip is normal. Weekly trips mean circuits are overloaded or a breaker is failing. It's also the number one reason people call our emergency electricians in Los Angeles.
2. You still have a fuse box
Fuse boxes are safe when used correctly, but they can't support modern loads and many insurers won't cover them. A fuse box replacement in Fresno or any other city is a same-day job for us.
3. A 100 amp service with big plans
Adding an EV charger in San Jose, a hot tub, a mini split or a Generator Installation usually needs a 100 to 200 amp upgrade.
4. Warm, buzzing or rusty panel
Heat and noise mean loose connections. Rust means water intrusion. Both are safety issues; call for an Electrical Inspection.
5. Federal Pacific, Zinsco or Sylvania panel
These brands have known failure histories. If your Oakland or Long Beach home has one, replacement is strongly recommended.
6. Lights dim when appliances start
